Qualified Person-Centred Counsellor, Registered member MBACP
I am a qualified counsellor, practicing since 2009. Although originally trained in the Person-centred modality, I defne my work and philosophy as Humanistic.
I aim to work in a collaborative way with my clients, offering the core conditions of empathy, congruence and unconditional positive regard, coupled with reflection, observation and challenge. I see the counselling relationship as fundamental to the work, and what drives me is curiosity about what the client defines as ‘a good life’, and how they hope to achieve it.
I work with a range of issues, and have previously practiced in Emmaus, The University of Brighton counselling service and Brighton Women Centre. I have been working in 360B Counselling Service since 2011, as I feel strongly that counselling should be as accessible and affordable as possible.
My qualifications are:
Post Graduate Diploma in Person-Centred Counselling (University of Brighton)
Certificate in Duo-Counselling (Make a Difference Training)
Certificate in Coaching Skills (Stephen Paul)
My first degree was in English Literature, and I feel that the love of words, imagery and myth influences my work just as much as my counselling training.
