Amy Harris MBACP

Accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist Qualified Supervisor

I am a qualified and accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP Accred). I work with adults, young people, couples and families.

As individuals we all think, feel and behave in different ways in different situations. As an integrative practitioner I work with each individual according to there own unique needs integrating knowledge and skills from different therapeutic models to suit the client. I view the client in the context of the systems they inhabit, be they families, communities, work, school environments. recognising the impact these have on us.

My work with clients has embraced a wide range of issues including substance misuse, attachment issues, bereavement, relationship and family issues, mental health including depression, anxiety and self-harm.

I have been working in schools as a Counsellor for over seven years and am currently the Counsellor at Shoreham Academy. I have worked with Community CAMHS as a Primary Mental Health Worker. Prior to this I was an Advocate and worked with children in the care system.

My qualifications include:

  • Diploma in Integrative Counselling from Southampton University (2006)
  • Post Qualifying Diploma in Counselling Children and Young People from Quality Training UK (2007)
  • Diploma in Supervision from Make A Difference Training (2011)
  • Certificate in Couples and Family work from Make A Difference Training (2011)

Being part of 360B offering low cost counselling in Brighton and Hove is a valuable part of my work, ensuring the local community are able to access talking therapies by qualified and professional counsellors.
